Virginia Beach, VA – The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center will open a new changing exhibit called Earth Matters: Rethink the Future to the public on January 25. Included with Aquarium admission, guests can explore this immersive, environmentally focused exhibit featuring thought-provoking interactives. The exhibit will be at the Aquarium until May 4, with an exclusive member-only opening on January 24.
Created by the renowned Scitech in Perth, Australia and produced by Imagine , Earth Matters covers topical themes such as biodiversity, rising global temperatures, and carbon emissions across an informative journey that will inspire visitors to find new answers to big questions.
See the inner workings of a tree, learn about endangered species and experience large-scale visualizations of changes taking place in our natural world. Earth Matters will allow guests to solve complex challenges and push their own ideas to new heights, rethinking a more sustainable future. Learn more about issues like biodiversity, rising global temperatures, and how to manage carbon emissions.
An interactive 3D projection map of a coral reef demonstrates changes in its ecosystem in response to visitors’ everyday decisions. At another exhibit, a mechanical pump demonstrates how much water is used in the production of a single chocolate bar and other popular lifestyle consumables.
Tom Zaller, CEO of Imagine shared, “Imagine is proud to partner with Scitech to bring Earth Matters to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. Earth Matters is a great way for families to spark their creativity and find STEM-based solutions for real-world challenges, making the world a better place in the process.”
Earth Matters is open daily to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a limited time. Tickets are available to purchase at VirginaAquarium.com .
