Costumed guests look at exhibit scuba diver

Virginia Beach, VA – The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center is getting in the Halloween spirit with two Halloween events in October. For families looking for a howling fun, family-friendly Halloween outing, Fins & Frights will be on October 17 & 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and for an adult-only Halloween experience, the Aquarium’s Sharks After Dark Halloween Night will be on October 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

At Fins & Frights, guests can explore a spooky night with creepy areas for various age ranges. As night falls, the exhibits come alive with haunting lights, mysterious sounds, and strange surprises around every corner. Dress up in a costume and embrace the thrill of mystery for this spook-tacular event. Guests can expect candy stations, spooky scientist experiments, costumed divers, and a haunted trail walk.

Earlier in the month, the Aquarium’s monthly adults only evening event, Sharks After Dark, will be Halloween-themed, with a Dungeons and Dragons twist. Guests who are at least 21 years old can dress up in their Halloween costumes for a Halloween contest at 8pm with prizes for first, second, and third place. Available for purchase will be snacks such as mummy dogs and dirt cups with worms and special cocktails: poison appletini, nightmare on bourbon street, and witches brew lemonade. ID will be checked at the door.

Admission for Sharks After Dark and Fins & Frights are $37.95 plus tax. Aquarium members receive 50 percent off these ticket prices. For Fins & Frights, children four years old and younger receive free admission. Admission proceeds go to the Virginia Aquarium Foundation to provide education programs, conservation initiatives, research, animal care, and operate the Aquarium’s Stranding Response Program.

Tickets for these events can be reserved at VirginiaAquarium.com .
